Wehrmachthuisje and its collection

Wehrmachthuisje
Source

During World War II, 6-8 German soldiers were housed in the Wehrmacht cottage. These soldiers operated a searchlight that was part of a defense line against the Allies. After the war, the Wehrmachthuisje was used as emergency housing because of the housing shortage. The Wehrmachthuisje is the hub of the many monuments at crash sites in the area. Stories from eyewitnesses as well as former residents are on display. To better reflect the experience of the time, an original German searchlight has been placed. In short, the Wehrmachthuisje tells the story of the air war over the Peel.
