The ToonSeum, also known as the Pittsburgh Museum of Cartoon Art, was a unique institution dedicated solely to the celebration and exploration of cartoon arts. It was located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and was one of the few museums in the United States that focused exclusively on this form of art.
On November 8, 2009, the ToonSeum relocated to its own gallery space on Liberty Avenue in the heart of Pittsburgh's downtown Cultural District. This move was made possible with the support of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, highlighting the city's commitment to promoting and preserving the arts.
On February 16, 2018, the ToonSeum announced that it would be closing its physical location on Liberty Avenue on February 24, 2018. The museum decided to shift its focus towards direct community outreach, indicating a change in its operational model.
