Spanning an area of 3 hectares, Tierpark Herford is home to a diverse range of animals. As of 2022, the zoo houses 650 animals from 90 different species. This includes a variety of both local and exotic animals, providing visitors with a unique opportunity to learn about and interact with a wide range of wildlife.
In addition to its animal exhibits, Tierpark Herford also offers amenities for families and children. The zoo features a children's playground and a kiosk for refreshments. Thanks to a successful crowdfunding project that raised €16,781, the playground has been upgraded and now includes a five-meter-high slide tower, adding to the fun and excitement for young visitors.
Tierpark Herford welcomes visitors from March to November. This schedule allows visitors to experience the zoo during the warmer months of the year, making it an ideal destination for a spring or summer outing. Whether you're a local resident or a tourist, a visit to Tierpark Herford offers a delightful experience of nature and wildlife.
