The Mary Brogan Museum of Arts and Science, also known as the Brogan Museum and MOAS, was an art and science museum located in Tallahassee, Florida. It was situated at 350 South Duval Street, in the heart of the city's downtown area. The museum was formed from the merger of two other Tallahassee museums, The Museum of Art/Tallahassee and the Odyssey Science Center, which were created independently in 1990 and 1991 respectively.

Mission and Features of the Museum

The mission of the Mary Brogan Museum of Arts and Science was to stimulate interest in, and understanding of, the connections between visual arts, sciences, mathematics, and technology. The museum housed two floors of interactive science exhibits and an art gallery that displayed a range of works. In addition to these, the museum also featured a gift shop, educational classrooms, and rental space for special events.

Closure of the Museum

In January 2012, Tallahassee Community College (TCC) and the board of directors announced the indefinite closure of the Mary Brogan Museum of Arts and Science. Despite the closure, the staff continued to offer limited programs, including 'Camp All That!' through the summer of 2012. Throughout 2013, TCC and the board of directors attempted to bridge the financial gap, even resorting to selling some of the museum's artwork collection. However, when a bid for $150,000 in funding from Leon County fell through in early 2013, the museum was forced to close permanently. The dire financial straits and an inability to bring in blockbuster exhibits were cited as reasons behind the closure.
