The Städtische Museum Eisenhüttenstadt, established in 1980, is a multi-faceted institution with three distinct locations. These locations offer a comprehensive view of Eisenhüttenstadt's city history, an art gallery featuring works from the German Democratic Republic (GDR), and a fire brigade and technology museum. This diversity provides visitors with a broad understanding of the city's past, its artistic heritage, and its technological advancements.

The Permanent Exhibition

The permanent exhibition at the Städtische Museum Eisenhüttenstadt provides insights into the early settlement of the Oderauen landscape, the medieval city of Fürstenberg (Oder), traditional crafts, and industrial development, including the regional glass industry. Additionally, the museum provides information about Stalag III B, the second largest POW camp of the Wehrmacht in Brandenburg, offering a comprehensive understanding of the region's history.

The Fire Brigade and Technology Museum

The Fire Brigade and Technology Museum, part of the Städtische Museum Eisenhüttenstadt, owes its collection to the initiative of dedicated firefighters from Fürstenberg (Oder) who preserved objects of fire history after World War II. The museum showcases objects from the 16th to the 20th century, including both earlier and modern small technology, with a particular focus on historical fire engines. As of 1999, the museum had about 40 such engines in its collection. This unique museum is the only one of its kind in Brandenburg and is considered one of the most significant in Germany.
