Covering an area of approximately 11 hectares, Zoo Frankfurt is home to a variety of rare species. These animals are housed in three main buildings: the Grizimek-Haus, the Exotarium, and the Vogelhaus. The Grizimek-Haus, named after former zoo director Bernhard Grzimek, is divided into two sections: one for nocturnal animals and another for primarily diurnal small mammals. The Exotarium houses a group of donkey penguins in a cooled enclosure and many different fish and reptiles. The Vogelhaus, along with surrounding aviaries, is home to a large number of bird species.
Zoo Frankfurt is open to visitors every day from 9.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. This allows ample time for tourists to explore the zoo and its various exhibits. Whether you're interested in observing the rare species in the Grizimek-Haus, the Exotarium, and the Vogelhaus, or simply want to enjoy a leisurely day in the outdoors, Zoo Frankfurt offers a unique experience for all.
