The Seaquarium du Grau-du-Roi, established in 1989, is a marine aquarium located in the commune of Grau-du-Roi, in the Gard department and the Occitanie region. It is home to a diverse range of marine life, including over 200 species of Mediterranean and tropical fish, 25 species of sharks, as well as seals and sea lions.
In 2001, the Seaquarium du Grau-du-Roi expanded its facilities with the creation of the marine mammal pole, a pool that houses seals and sea lions. The aquarium also participates in various events throughout the year, including the European Shark Week and World Ocean Day, offering unique experiences for visitors.
The Seaquarium offers a variety of educational resources and experiences. These include discovery sheets made in collaboration with the National Education services, free or guided tours, and themed days. These activities are designed to enhance visitors' understanding and awareness of the marine world.
