Activities Beyond the Museum

In addition to its main location, Science World hosts several activities in various locations throughout the province. These activities aim to bring scientific workshops and presentations to communities that would otherwise not have access to them.

History of the Museum

The museum has a rich history, originally opening in 1982 as the Arts, Sciences & Technology Centre. In its first year, it attracted 600,000 visitors, demonstrating the public's interest in science and technology. Over the years, the museum has continued to evolve and expand, always with the goal of making science accessible and engaging for all.

OMNIMAX Theatre

In 1988, the museum moved to a new building, which attracted about 310,000 visitors in just four months. A year later, a 400-seat OMNIMAX theatre was opened, expanding the IMAX 3-D theatre that was built during Expo 86. This theatre offers a unique and immersive viewing experience, making it a popular attraction for visitors.
