Romeins Archeologisch Museum Oudenburg and its collection

The Roman Archaeological Museum Oudenburg (RAM) is housed in the former abbatial building of St. Peter's Abbey. The museum displays archaeological finds excavated in the region. When the Romans set up fortifications on the North Sea to defend the coast, Oudenburg was an important castellum. In addition to the fortifications, a burial field was also found during the excavations. In addition to focusing on this Roman history, the museum also tells the abbey story through various objects.
