La Malagueta is a historic bullring situated in the eastern district of Málaga, Spain. It is named after the neighbourhood it resides in, La Malagueta. The building is under the ownership of the Provincial Deputation of Málaga, adding to its cultural significance.
In 1981, La Malagueta was declared a Bien de Interés Cultural, marking it as a national heritage site. A significant renovation began in 2017, transforming the interior of the building to serve as a year-round cultural centre, in addition to its function as a bullring.
La Malagueta is a hub of activity during the Spanish-style bullfighting season, hosting a variety of events. Notable festivities include two bullfights during Holy Week, featuring the Corrida Picassiana, named in honour of Pablo Picasso. The Corrida de la Prensa is held in June, celebrating Málaga town's patron saints, Ciriaco and Paula. The bullring also plays a significant role during the Feria de Agosto. The season concludes with the August festival and final bullfight in September, dedicated to Our Lady of Victory, the patron saint of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Málaga.
