Nymindegab Redningsstation is a museum today, which is operated in conjunction with the Nymindegab Museum. Both of these institutions fall under the umbrella of the Varde Museum. This provides visitors with a comprehensive insight into the history and culture of the region.
Historical Rescue Boat and Equipment
The Nymindegab Redningsstation houses Denmark's oldest preserved rescue boat in its original building. Alongside the boat, visitors can also see the equipment that was used in a coastal rescue station. This includes rockets, firing mechanisms, rescue lines, lights, and a rescue chair. The boat was built in 1890 at the Orlogsværftet in Copenhagen.
