Its extensive scientific collections include 50,000 botanical specimens, 135,000 insects, 1,960 mammals, 22,000 fish, 4,920 reptiles, 2,685 amphibians, 3,000 birds, and 5,000 fossils. These collections offer visitors a unique opportunity to learn about the diverse species found in Bolivia and beyond.
In addition to its in-house collections, the museum also conducts guided tours to the natural parks of the department of Santa Cruz, Bolivia. These tours offer visitors the opportunity to experience the country's rich biodiversity firsthand and learn about the importance of conservation efforts.
