Nivaagaard Brickworks, located in Nivå in North Zealand, Denmark, is a significant historical site. Its former Hoffmann kiln, a unique piece of industrial heritage, was listed on the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1985. Today, it operates as a museum known as Ringovnen, offering visitors a glimpse into the brick-making industry of the past.

Modernization of Nivaagaard Brickworks in the 19th Century

The brickyard at Nivaagaard underwent significant modernization in the mid-19th century. A steam engine was installed in 1857, marking a major technological advancement. In 1862, the brickyard was acquired by Alfred Hage, who commissioned the construction of a long kiln in 1869 and a Hoffmann kiln in 1870. These developments reflect the evolution of the brick-making industry during this period.
