The Nationaal Glasmuseum is housed in two villas that are connected with each other by covered footbridges. The collection of the museum consists of glass objects, both ornamental and normal glass. In addition to the permanent exhibition the museum also organises temporary exhibitions. In the ‘glasblazerij’ the visitor learns how glass objects are made. That building is within walking distance and is part of the Nationaal Glasmuseum.

Nationaal Glasmuseum has 4 ratings.
The Nationaal Glasmuseum in Leerdam, the Netherlands, offers visitors an engaging experience centered around the art and history of glassmaking. The museum showcases an extensive collection of glass objects, ranging from historical pieces to contemporary artworks. Visitors appreciate the opportunity to observe skilled glassblowers demonstrating their craft, which adds an interactive element to the experience. The museum's exhibits effectively illustrate the evolution of glass production techniques and styles over time.
While many visitors find the displays informative and well-presented, some note that the museum space is relatively compact, which may limit the depth of information provided on certain topics. The gift shop receives positive mentions for its selection of unique glass items, though prices can be on the higher side.
The museum's location in Leerdam, known as the Glass City of the Netherlands, adds to its authenticity and appeal. However, some visitors mention that reaching the museum can be challenging for those relying on public transportation.
Overall, the Nationaal Glasmuseum provides an educational and visually appealing experience for those interested in glass art and its history. While it may not be expansive in size, it offers a focused and quality presentation of its subject matter.

Leuk museum voor even mee te pakken. Is niet groot en je bent er vrij snel uitgekeken. Pand mag wel een opknapbeurt gebruiken. Ik vind de entreeprijs vrij duur voor hetgeen het museum te bieden heeft.
