The Museum of Maritime Science was a marine science museum situated in Higashiyashio, Shinagawa, Tokyo on Odaiba island, Japan. It was a significant destination for those interested in marine science and maritime history. The museum was known for its extensive collection of exhibits related to the maritime industry, including Japanese boats, items related to the navy, shipping industry, fishing, sailing, maritime recreation, ship design and building, and the environment of the seas and oceans around Japan.
Since May 1979, the icebreaker Sลya has been moored alongside the museum and open to the public. It is now the only remaining element attached to the museum. This historic icebreaker offers a unique insight into the maritime history and is a significant part of the museum's legacy.
