Unfortunately, the Museum of disABILITY History announced its permanent closure on December 4, 2020. This decision was made during the COVID-19 pandemic, due to a lack of adequate dedicated funding. Despite its closure, the museum's legacy continues to inspire and educate about the history of people with disabilities.
