The museum is big! It has many displays and models relating to the maritime history of the area. History enthusiasts can take their time reading (I used my iPhone to translate) the information or casual visitors can appreciate the story told by the many well-designed displays. Possibly, there are too many ship models. Children may prefer the models showing life in times past. Unusually, there is an extensive aquarium in the basement. Even more unusually, you can see into the laboratories concerned with the breeding and care of the animals and plants. Big tip! Take the children to the aquarium first then, if they complain about the history section, “if you don’t stop, we won’t go back to the aquarium!”
