Location and Management

Inaugurated in August 1999, the Museo archeologico di Guardiagrele "don Filippo Ferrari" is situated in Piazza San Francesco. It is housed on the ground floor of the municipal building, which was formerly a Franciscan convent. The museum is managed by the Guardiagrele branch of Archeoclub d'Italia, a national organization dedicated to the promotion and protection of Italy's archaeological heritage.

Exhibits and Displays

The Museo archeologico di Guardiagrele "don Filippo Ferrari" consists of five rooms, each showcasing a different aspect of the region's ancient history. The museum displays about sixty funerary outfits, which were found in tumulus tombs dating back to the early Iron Age. These exhibits provide a fascinating glimpse into the burial practices and beliefs of the ancient inhabitants of the region.
