The Hill with the Lion is located on the Battle of Waterloo where on June 15, 1815, the French and English troops fought each other. The Panorama of the Battle of Waterloo can be seen in a circular building located next to the visitor center. On display in the building is the work painted by Louis Dumoulin in 1912 to celebrate the first centenary of the battle. The work has a circumference of 110 meters and a height of 12 meters. The panorama depicts a key moment of the battle, in the heat of the battle.
