The Medical Museion is a museum in Copenhagen that researches, collects and exhibits medical heritage. The museum is housed in buildings from 1787 that were built for the Surgical Academy. The museum's collections were founded by a group of Copenhagen doctors in 1906/1907. Since 1918, the University of Copenhagen has owned and operated the museum. Medical Museion is a department of the Department of Public Health, Faculty of Health Sciences. The focus of the Medical Museion is on the recent history of the material and iconographic culture of biomedicine.
