The Musée des Abattoirs (museum of slaughterhouse) is a museum in Toulouse and housed in a former slaughterhouse from 1823. The museum holds a collection of Modern and Contemporary art. The Modern collection focuses on artists who were active from the 1950s with paintings including CoBrA, Art Brut, Arte Povera, Trans-Avant-Garde, lyrical abstraction, action painting and other examples of Art Informel. The Contemporary collection on the other hand is made up of several bodies of work which intersect with the Modern collection, while offering new perspectives on art today.
