Boderne, also known as Stenboderne, is a collection of medieval terraced houses located in the city of Næstved. These houses are situated just south of the Sankt Peders Church, making them a significant historical site within the city. The complex is a testament to the architectural and cultural history of the region during the medieval period.
The Boderne complex is made up of three interconnected buildings: Gotschalks Boder, Vesthuset, and Tuesens Boder. Each of these buildings has its own unique history and architectural style. The oldest among them is Gotschalks Boder, a stone house that was built around the year 1400. This building is named after Henrik Gotschalk, a priest and notary who lived in one of the apartments in the 15th century.
Currently, the Boderne houses are used by the Næstved Museum for exhibitions. This provides visitors with an opportunity to explore the historical and cultural significance of these buildings. Each of the three buildings was constructed separately, with the oldest, Gotschalks Boder, dating back to around the year 1400. This makes the Boderne complex a fascinating destination for those interested in history and architecture.
