Knudaheio, located in Time on Jæren, is renowned as the artist's home of the author Arne Garborg. Built in 1898, Garborg used this house as a holiday home and a poet's studio during the last 25 years of his life, from 1899 to 1924. This historical connection adds a unique charm to the place, making it a point of interest for tourists interested in literature and history.
Currently owned by the Time municipality, Knudaheio was gifted by Hulda Garborg in 1924. Today, it serves as a museum that opens during the summer. This provides an opportunity for tourists to explore the house and learn more about the life and works of Arne Garborg.
Inside Knudaheio, visitors can find an exhibition of most pictures taken of Garborg, both in and outside the house. The poet's furniture and other belongings are also on display, along with copies of first editions of most of his books. This exhibition provides a comprehensive overview of Garborg's life and work.
