The Katwijk Museum has an international collection of paintings which it combines with a collection of local objects. The museum has a large collection of works from the artists' colony that emerged in Katwijk in the early 20th century. There is also a permanent exhibition on fishery in Katwijk through the ages. The gentlemen's room and the boudoir still have their authentic interior. A centerpiece is the map of (Konrad) Peutinger, a medieval copy of a Roman travel card which proves that Katwijk was an important Roman city.

Katwijks Museum has 1 rating.
The Katwijks Museum, located in the coastal town of Katwijk in the Netherlands, offers visitors a glimpse into the local history and culture. The museum is housed in a charming old building, which adds to its atmosphere. Exhibits focus on Katwijk's maritime heritage, fishing industry, and traditional costumes, providing insight into the town's past.
Visitors generally appreciate the museum's well-organized displays and informative content. The collection of artifacts, including fishing equipment, model ships, and historical photographs, is considered interesting and diverse. Many reviewers mention the knowledgeable and friendly staff who enhance the experience with their explanations.
However, some visitors note that the museum is relatively small and can be explored in a short amount of time. A few reviewers mention that some exhibit descriptions are only in Dutch, which can be challenging for international visitors. The museum's size and scope might not appeal to those seeking a more extensive or modern museum experience.
Despite its limitations, the Katwijks Museum is generally regarded as a worthwhile stop for those interested in local history and maritime culture. It provides a good overview of Katwijk's past and its connection to the sea, making it particularly appealing to visitors with an interest in coastal communities and Dutch heritage.
