The Jacob Smit Museum is housed in the clergy house of Mol-Sluis, a rural building from 1892. The museum displays more than fifty of Jacob Smits' best paintings, drawings and watercolour paintings. Jakob Smits mainly painted Kempen landscapes and figure paintings, biblical scenes and portraits, searching for the soul of man and the heart of things. Besides works by Smit, the museum also displays a selection of works from the Mol school of painters of Smits' time.

The Jakob Smitsmuseum was extremely kind to me even though I have never been there. For years I had been wanting a copy of the painting Het symbool van de Kempen to display in my church when we feed the poor. When they heard of my desire, they sent me a photo of the painting!!!!
I will be forever grateful and perhaps someday, I will be honored to visit the museum. Again, I say THANK YOU THANK YOU DANK U WEL DANK U WEL
