Founded in 2002 by Dr. Ken Hoover and further developed under the direction of Dr. Natasha Vanderhoff, the Life Sciences Museum at Jacksonville University offers a glimpse into the natural world. The museum features an extraordinary collection of fossils, shells, bones, skins, and mounted specimens—some dating back over 400 million years. Highlights include fossilized shark teeth, skulls of both modern and extinct mammals, and a wide variety of African mammal skins and horns from the 1920s. Visitors can also explore an extensive bird mount collection, thousands of seashells, and rare specimens like the skulls of Grevy's zebra, maned wolf, and cheetah. The Jacksonville University's Life Sciences Museum is mainly a private collection of specimens for academic purposes and is not open/accessible to the public.
