The Museu Casa de Nhozinho is a museum situated in the historic center of São Luís, Maranhão. It was inaugurated in 2002 and is housed in a four-story mansion built in the early 19th century. The museum's name is a tribute to the popular artist, Antônio Bruno Pinto Nogueira, also known as Nhozinho, who was a master in buriti carving.
The Museu Casa de Nhozinho boasts a collection of regional everyday elements. These include indigenous pieces, fishing utensils, ox carts, network looms, ceramic pots, buriti towels, popular dolls, indigenous featherworks, and toys that mimic animals. The museum also preserves pieces that reveal the customs and way of life of the Maranhão people, from the earliest times.
