Helsinki Zoo, also known as Korkeasaari Zoo, is a popular attraction located on an island in Helsinki, Finland. Visitors generally appreciate the zoo's natural setting and its focus on conservation efforts. The zoo houses a diverse range of animals, including Nordic species and endangered animals from around the world. Many reviewers enjoy the scenic ferry ride to the island and the opportunity to see animals in spacious enclosures. The zoo's efforts in education and animal welfare are often praised. However, some visitors note that the zoo can be hilly and requires a fair amount of walking, which may be challenging for some. Additionally, a few reviewers mention that some enclosures could benefit from updates or improvements. The zoo's seasonal nature is also worth noting, as some animals may be less active or visible during colder months. Overall, Helsinki Zoo offers a pleasant experience for animal lovers and families, combining wildlife observation with beautiful Finnish nature.

The Helsinki zoo is situated on an island. We went there with the ferry which is a nice way of traveling. With the Helsinki Card we got a little bit of discount. The zoo has a nice and quiet atmosphere, which helped us to really enjoy watching the animals and the nature on the island. The island is the zoo’s greatest feature though. The animals in the zoo are not that special. Nonetheless a recommended attraction to visit when you are in Helsinki!
