The Maritime Museum of Estonia (Eesti Meremuuseum) is an organization in Estonia that manages various shipping museums in Tallinn. The Fat Margaret is located in a tower of the city wall. This is the main location of the museum that shows the maritime history of Estonia. Furthermore it includes the Lennusadam where the museum ships are located. Fat Margaret (Paks Margareeta) was built from 1511 to 1530 during the reconstruction of the medieval city gate system. The museum exhibits a collection of nautical paraphernalia that spreads over four stories with a view of the old town and Tallinn's harbour and bay from its rooftop.

The Estonian Maritime Museum in Tallinn offers an informative and engaging experience for visitors interested in naval history. Located in the historic Seaplane Harbor, the museum's standout feature is its impressive collection of maritime exhibits, including a real submarine that visitors can explore. Many visitors appreciate the interactive displays and hands-on experiences, which make the museum suitable for both adults and children.

The museum's layout and presentation of artifacts receive positive feedback, with exhibits spanning from ancient times to the modern era. The restoration of the Seaplane Hangar itself is often mentioned as an architectural highlight. Some visitors note that the museum provides a good balance of Estonian naval history and broader maritime topics.

While most reviews are positive, some visitors mention that the ticket price is a bit high, especially for families. Additionally, a few reviewers note that some exhibit descriptions could benefit from more detailed English translations.

Overall, the Estonian Maritime Museum is well-regarded for its comprehensive collection, interactive elements, and the unique experience of exploring a submarine. It's considered a worthwhile attraction for those interested in maritime history or looking for an educational outing in Tallinn.
