The Delaware Legislative Hall, situated in the state capital city of Dover on Legislative Avenue, serves as the state capitol building of Delaware. This significant structure houses the chambers and offices of the Delaware General Assembly, making it a central hub for the state's legislative activities.
The Delaware Legislative Hall was designed in the Colonial Revival architecture style by E. William Martin and Norman M. Isham. The construction of the building took place from 1931 to 1933. Additional wings were added to the structure in the years 1965 to 1970 and again in 1994, expanding the building's capacity.
Before the Delaware Legislative Hall, the original capitol of Delaware was the State House, now known as the Old State House. This historic building is located on The Green in Dover. Today, the Old State House has been meticulously restored to its 18th-century appearance and functions as a museum, offering visitors a glimpse into the state's past.
