The Contemporary Art Museum of Cusco is situated within the historic Cabildo Palace, located in the Regocijo Square in the heart of Cusco. The museum showcases a wide array of works from both national and international artists, with over 50 temporary exhibitions held each year. Additionally, the museum boasts a permanent collection featuring artists from Cusco and across the nation.
Established in 1995, the Contemporary Art Museum of Cusco houses over 280 works in its permanent collection. The museum is located in the historic Municipal Palace, also known as the Cabildo Palace, which was built in 1848. This building also serves as the Mayor's office and the city's Convention Center.
The Contemporary Art Museum of Cusco features three exhibition rooms. The first and second rooms, located on the first floor, host temporary and traveling exhibitions. The second room also opens onto the Palace courtyard, where works of contemporary Cusco artists are displayed. The third room, located on the second floor, is dedicated to the permanent exhibition of classic and contemporary artists.
