Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden has 1 rating.
The Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden is a popular attraction in Hungary's capital city. Established in 1866, it's one of the oldest zoos in the world and offers visitors a diverse collection of animals and plants.
Many visitors appreciate the zoo's historical architecture, particularly the Art Nouveau buildings that add charm to the experience. The variety of animals, including elephants, big cats, and primates, generally receives positive feedback. The zoo's efforts in conservation and animal welfare are often noted and appreciated by guests.
The botanical garden aspect of the facility is praised for its well-maintained grounds and diverse plant life, providing a pleasant environment for both the animals and visitors. Some guests particularly enjoy the butterfly house and the Australia zone.
However, some visitors feel that certain enclosures could be larger or more modern, especially for some of the larger animals. Occasionally, there are comments about the zoo feeling a bit dated in some areas. During peak seasons, crowding can be an issue, which might impact the overall experience for some visitors.
The zoo's location within City Park (Városliget) is convenient for tourists, making it easy to combine with other nearby attractions. Most visitors find the entry fee reasonable for the experience offered.
While the Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden may not be the most cutting-edge or largest zoo in Europe, it offers a solid, educational, and enjoyable experience for families and animal enthusiasts. Its historical significance and central location add to its appeal as a Budapest attraction.
