The Archéoforum de Liège is a monumental forum covering 3,725 square meters, making it the largest of its kind in Europe. Through both movable and immovable archaeological remains, it paints a picture of Liège's history, from Prehistory to the newest times. Archeoforum of Liege has 1 rating.
The Archeoforum of Liege offers visitors an underground journey through the city's rich history. Located beneath Saint-Lambert Square, this archaeological site showcases layers of Liège's past, from prehistoric times to the medieval period. Visitors can explore the foundations of various structures, including Roman villas and medieval churches. The museum provides informative displays and interactive elements to help visitors understand the significance of the excavated artifacts and structures. While some guests appreciate the historical value and the opportunity to see Liège's evolution over time, others find the experience somewhat overwhelming due to the vast amount of information presented. The lighting and layout of the underground space can be challenging for some visitors, potentially affecting the overall experience. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Archeoforum offers a unique perspective on Liège's archaeological heritage and is generally considered a worthwhile visit for those interested in local history and archaeology.
