Ammersoyen Castle and its collection

Ammersoyen Castle
Source

Kasteel Ammersoyen was built around 1350 and is one of the best preserved examples of a closed medieval Dutch castle with round corner towers and a fortress. Partly thanks to the great hall and the cabinet, the interior feels medieval. It features an exhibition on objects that were found in the moat. The museum illustrates everyday life in a castle.

Ammersoyen Castle in Ammerzoden, the Netherlands, offers visitors a well-preserved glimpse into medieval Dutch history. The castle's sturdy architecture and moat provide an authentic 14th-century atmosphere. Visitors appreciate the restored interiors, which showcase period furniture and artifacts, giving a sense of how people lived centuries ago. The guided tours are informative, providing insights into the castle's history and restoration. Some visitors note that while the castle is not extremely large, its compact size allows for a thorough exploration in a reasonable amount of time.
