The Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art is situated in St. Joseph, Missouri. The museum is housed in the former residence of Mr. and Mrs. William Albrecht, located at 2818 Frederick Avenue. The Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art boasts a comprehensive collection of American art from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. This wide range of art periods provides visitors with a rich overview of the evolution of American art over three centuries.
In 1991, a 21,000 square-foot extension was added to the back of the house, designed by Herb Duncan of Duncan Architects, Inc. This new addition includes a large gallery space with two tower galleries, a dining room, an auditorium, a gift shop, and educational facilities. These amenities enhance the visitor experience, offering a variety of spaces to explore and enjoy.
