The Acquario civico in Milan, Italy, offers visitors a modest but interesting aquatic experience. Located in the Parco Sempione, this small public aquarium houses a variety of freshwater and marine species. While not as extensive as some larger aquariums, it provides an educational look at both local and exotic aquatic life.

Visitors appreciate the historical significance of the building, which dates back to 1906, and its art nouveau architecture. The aquarium's focus on both Mediterranean and tropical ecosystems is noted as informative, particularly for those interested in Italy's native aquatic species.

However, some reviewers mention that the facility could benefit from modernization and expansion. The limited size means it can be explored relatively quickly, which may disappoint those expecting a more comprehensive aquarium experience. Additionally, information is primarily in Italian, which can be challenging for international visitors.

On the positive side, the aquarium is often praised for its affordability and its suitability for a short visit, especially for families with children. The peaceful atmosphere and the opportunity to see some unusual species are highlighted as enjoyable aspects.

While the Acquario civico may not be a top attraction in Milan, it offers a calm, educational break from the city's more bustling sights and can be a pleasant addition to a visit to the Parco Sempione area.
