In 2010, the 19-Lachter-Stollen was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Upper Harz Water Management System. This recognition underlines the historical and cultural significance of the tunnel and its role in the mining industry. The 19-Lachter-Stollen is also part of the World Heritage Route of the UNESCO World Heritage in the Harz.
Today, visitors can explore a 500 m long section of the 19-Lachter-Adolph-Stollen up to the blind shaft. This section of the tunnel provides a good impression of the narrowness underground and the laborious work of the miners. The tunnel is partially only about 1.40 m high, so visitors of average to tall height will have to walk bent over for long stretches. After a few hundred meters of tunnel driving, a view from a steel bridge into the yawning depth of the originally 261 m deep blind shaft is offered.
