Exhibition 'Rejuvenated Junk' in Heath Robinson Museum
The Heath Robinson Museum's fun and family-friendly exhibition for summer 2017 shows how ingenuity, imagination and innovation have transformed junk materials to give them a new lease of life. A collaboration between the Museum and knowtrash we hope our fabulous exhibition will help visitors reconsider the value of things we throw away, inspiring everyone to discover ways to turn our trash to treasure.
In 1935 William Heath Robinson created a series of drawings he called Rejuvenated Junk, depicting new uses for unwanted objects. Ten of these drawings were used to illustrate an article titled "At home with Heath Robinson", written by KRG Browne and published in The Strand magazine. Our new special exhibition features several of the original drawings.
Complementing Heath Robinson's illustrations and cartoons , our 21st-century take on "Rejuvenated Junk" showcases a stunning collection of recycled and upcycled artefacts from 33 countries and diverse communities all around the world.
