Exhibition 'Dolls' House Exhibition' in Larne Museum and Arts Centre

A World of Miniature at Larne Museum & Arts Centre

During the months of June and July, Larne Museum & Arts Centre will be hosting an exhibition of a private collection of Dolls’ Houses.

The exhibition will consist of approximately 20 houses in the scale of 1/16th and 1/12th, some of which are dressed in period themes including Art Deco, Tudor and Victorian. There will also be a display case of 1/48th scale houses.

The exhibition will include a number of worksheets for schools and visitors, a writing corner where visitors can try out calligraphy and a play corner with a few houses designed to stimulate imaginative play.

There will also be a competition for Primary School aged children, with vintage prizes, and a seniors’ competition with a 1/24th scale kit house up for grabs!

To celebrate the opening of the exhibition, there will also be a free children’s Art Workshop on Saturday 10th June from 11.00am – 1.00pm, where the children will be able to make their very own Shoebox Doll’s House to take home. Places are limited and should be booked in advance by contacting the Museum.

With an exhibition, worksheets, play area, competitions, handout to make your own house from a shoebox, writing corner, a house all the way from Ethiopia and a children’s art workshop, there’s a wonderful world of miniature waiting to be explored this summer at Larne Museum & Arts Centre!

The exhibition is on display from Friday 2nd June until Friday 21st July and includes Saturday opening on 10th June and 1st July. Opening hours: Monday – Friday, 10.00am – 4.30pm. Free admission.
