Sweden is a country in Northern Europe and forms Scandinavia with Norway and Denmark. The country has about 10 million inhabitants and is the largest country and the country with the most inhabitants of Scandinavia. The capital of Sweden is Stockholm.

Characteristics of the country include Pippi Longstocking and her creator Astrid Lindgren, IKEA, car manufacturer Volvo, Knäckebröd and pop group ABBA. Sweden is also known for its design. Swedish furniture is popular all over the world. There is a lot to see and to do in the country because of its old cities, such as Stockholm, Gothenburg and Helsingborg and its nature, for outdoor activities. Despite this, the tourism sector in Sweden is quite small.

Sweden has a total of 15 places on the UNESCO World Heritage List. These sights are: the agricultural Landscape of Southern Öland, Birka and Hovgården, the Church Town of Gammelstad in Luleå, the decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland, the Engelsberg Ironworks, the Grimeton Radio Station in Varberg, the Hanseatic Town of Visby, the mining area of the Great Copper Mountain in Falun, the Naval Port of Karlskrona, the rock carvings in Tanum, the Royal Domain of Drottningholm, the Skogskyrkogården, the Struve Geodetic Arc, the High Coast (Kvarken Archipelago) and the Laponian Area.
