Art museums in Navarre

The facade and chapel of the Museum of Navarre date back to the 16th century. The front is a work of Juan de Villarreal and Martín de Azcárate from 1556 and is the only example of civil Renaissance architecture in Pamplona. The side entrance to the chapel has a facade in the form of a 17th-century altarpiece from a church that was located on the main street, opposite the church of Santiago, in Puente la Reina.

The Jorge Oteiza Museum Foundation is a cultural institution that was established with the aim of housing the works of the renowned sculptor Jorge Oteiza. The museum, which is funded by the Government of Navarra, was inaugurated on May 8, 2003. The works housed in the museum were donated by Oteiza to Navarra in 1992.

The Museo Muñoz Sola de Arte Moderno is home to a vast collection of art belonging to the Tudela-born painter César Muñoz Sola (1921-2000). In addition to this permanent collection, the museum regularly hosts exhibitions of modern art, offering visitors a chance to experience a variety of artistic styles and periods.

A 13th-century attempt to imitate the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris is a part of a hospital complex. Noteworthy for its devotional art collection.

The University Museum of Navarra, located on the Pamplona campus, is a contemporary art museum that was designed by the renowned architect Rafael Moneo. The museum was inaugurated on January 22, 2015, and has since become a significant cultural landmark in the region.
