Bulgaria is one of the oldest countries in Europe, located in the Balkans, in south-eastern Europe. Bulgaria has more than 7 million inhabitants. The capital of the country is Sofia and is by far the largest city in the country.

Tourists mainly visit the beaches on the Black Sea, ski destinations in the mountains and the capital Sofia. But the country also has many other tourist spots with interesting cities and villages, churches and other cultural heritage sites.

Bulgarian music is the most important traditional art form and is very popular among lovers of folk music, especially because of a distinctive sound and the use of various traditional instruments. This music has therefore had a lot of influence on modern music styles. Pancho Vladigerov (1899-1978) was the most influential composer of the country, but various opera singers, harpists and artists have made the culture of Bulgaria popular abroad.
