Arvière-en-Valromey is a commune located in the Ain department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of eastern France. The commune was established on January 1, 2019, through the merger of four former communes: Brénaz, Chavornay, Lochieu, and Virieu-le-Petit.
The area is characterized by its rural landscape and is situated in the historic Valromey region, a natural area within the Bugey mountains. The commune takes part of its name from the Chartreuse d'Arvière, a former Carthusian monastery founded in the 12th century, which played a significant role in the local history and cultural development of the region.
