The Winter Garden Heritage Foundation (WGHF) is a key organization in preserving the history of West Orange County, Florida. It operates two significant museums in Winter Garden: the Winter Garden Heritage Museum and the Central Florida Railroad Museum. The former is located in the 1923 Atlantic Coast Line train depot in downtown Winter Garden and focuses on the history and culture of the area. The latter is a world-class museum that exhibits photographs and artifacts covering Central Florida's storied railroading history.
In 2008, the Winter Garden Heritage Foundation completed the restoration of the Garden Theatre, a historic building originally opened in 1935. The theatre, located at 160 West Plant Street in historic downtown Winter Garden, Florida, was restored to its original architectural integrity, making it an authentic period piece. Today, it serves as a performing arts center, movie theatre, and multi-purpose venue, becoming a significant part of the city's cultural scene.
