The William P. Didusch Center for Urologic History, located in Linthicum, Maryland, serves as both a museum and the headquarters of the American Urological Association. The center houses a rich collection of drawings, photographs, and instruments significant to the history of urology. Many of these items are displayed during the American Urological Association conventions.
The museum offers a comprehensive view of the history of urology spanning 300 years. It showcases the evolution of urology from the early and perilous kidney stone surgeries to the modern ultrasound treatments that pulverize kidney stones without the need for invasive procedures.
In addition to its role as a museum, the Center also supports research in all areas of urologic history in the United States. It houses an extensive urological library, which includes early urological and medical texts, as well as the archives of the American Urological Association.
