Wildpark Gersfeld, also known as Hochwildschutzpark Ehrengrund, is a wildlife park located in the Hessian Rhön, about one kilometer southeast of Gersfeld. The park, which opened in July 1972, is nestled in a coniferous and mixed forest and is visited by approximately 60,000 people annually. It is considered one of the most natural wildlife parks in Germany.
The park is open all year round and covers an area of 50 hectares. It houses about 150 animals from approximately 25 species. The park mainly features European wildlife, including deer, roe deer, mouflon, sika deer, Dybowski, a subspecies of sika deer, and wild boars, chamois, and ibex.
The park offers a variety of amenities for visitors of all ages. There is a playground for children and a petting zoo with goats, providing a fun and interactive experience for younger visitors. For the convenience of visitors, all paths in the park are wheelchair accessible. Additionally, the park has a gastronomic operation, offering a variety of food and beverage options.
