Wasserschloss Glatt is a historic site located in the village of Glatt, a district of Sulz am Neckar in the valley of Glatt, Rottweil district, Baden-Württemberg. It is recognized as one of the oldest Renaissance castles in southern Germany and is among the few preserved moated castles in the state of Baden-Württemberg. This makes it a significant landmark for those interested in history and architecture.
In November 2001, the Kultur- und Museumszentrum Schloss Glatt was established within the moated castle. It comprises four museum facilities located in the main building and the former tithe barn. These museums offer a variety of exhibits and collections for visitors to explore.
The castle museum at Wasserschloss Glatt provides a detailed account of the history of the village of Glatt and its rule. The exhibits, primarily from the Siegfried Esslinger collection, offer a rich historical narrative. The museum is managed by the city of Sulz am Neckar and co-supervised by the Bürger- und Kulturverein Wasserschloss Glatt, ensuring its authenticity and quality.
