The Waldviertel Art Museum, situated in Schrems, Lower Austria, is a testament to the vision and creativity of the couple Makis E. Warlamis and Heide Warlamis. They were the ones who planned and built this unique space, which now serves as a hub for art and culture in the region.
Since its opening in June 2009, the Waldviertel Art Museum has been hosting annually changing exhibitions. These exhibitions primarily showcase the work of Heide and Makis Warlamis, along with a collection of sculptures and objects from Austrian and international contemporary artists.
The Waldviertel Art Museum is nestled within the expansive "Park of Wonder". This green area is home to diverse garden architecture, stone sculptures like the "sleeping poet" and the sky columns, a Marian temple, an amphitheater, and the Makis-Miro oven.
