Establishment of the Museum

The Velezano County Museum Miguel Guirao was established by the Vélez-Rubio city council, following an initiative by Miguel Guirao Pérez and his family. On November 22, 1991, they formalized the donation of their extensive archaeological, paleontological, and ethnological collection to the city council. This generous act laid the foundation for the museum and its diverse exhibits.

Museum's Collection

The collection of the Velezano County Museum Miguel Guirao is vast and diverse, comprising several thousand pieces. These artifacts originate from various archaeological sites in the southeastern peninsula, primarily from the region of Vélez.
