The oldest part of the main building at Uthaugsgården was constructed in 1740, during the time when the farm was still under the ownership of Austråttborgen. This historical connection adds an extra layer of interest for visitors, offering a tangible link to the past.
From 1869 onwards, Uthaugsgården was more than just a farm. A trading house, shipping expedition, and telephone exchange were connected to the farm, and it also operated extensively as a guesthouse. This diverse history provides a fascinating insight into the multifaceted operations of the farm in the past.
